AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) is a product to help migrate business from on-prem to cloud or cloud-cloud. This tool helps to identify the schema and complexity of database/ Data warehouse. What do you dislike about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

I didn't find any difficulties with this tool. Rather this tool helped me a lot while migrating on-premise oracle data warehouse to Redshift that too in PB scale. I don't have any dislike for this tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part is the convenience being offered and helps to save a lot of time as migration from one cloud provider to another is done with a few clicks and efficiently as we need not to look for scema key by key and mostly SQL databases are being supported. What do you dislike about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

The part which I disliked is no support for No-SQL Databases as it can't be used on MongoDB, adding up limitations, and several times indexing and procedures are done manually and could be automatic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a time-saving software with great data analytical features available. Moving db from one server to another has been more accessible with this software, which makes workflow more manageable. Stores and protects all the data at one place, fully encrypted end to end. Best and easiest way to convert OLTP formate to any other formate you require or you use. What do you like best about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

From my usage, I like that we do need not to put many efforts for getting things done in lesser time and most of the SQL Database Service Providers are supported along with it, Auto Scan Feature is the best part of it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike that it do not support NOSQL Databases which I feels is lacking and adding a limitation, another thing which I faced was many Datatypes are not recognised or may be supported that thing is done manually that needs to be improved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Saves a lot of resources for manual migration processes, esp. for things like automatically generating migration scripts and doing machine conversions. Can typically get you 95% of the way to a full migration with little effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

Getting to the extra 5% can be very difficult IF you have very specific requirements or quirks of your source db that you are relying on. Documentation and support for trouble shooting could be much better, esp. since this is a more "niche" and newer product without a lot of documentation out there (e.g. on stack overflow) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

Converting my DB schema from one DB engine to another one, its really easy to make it and migrate our on-prem DB to the AWS RDS DB without data loss and AWS provides a wide range of DB engines, which covers most of our preferences Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about AWS Schema Conversion Tool?

There are some limitations like can't migrate our on-prem MySQL or Postresql Databae to DMS because On Prem DB is a relational database which has all constraints like indexes or primary keys something like that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
