What problems is Amazon Elastic Container Registry (ECR) solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are using AWS EC2 and EKS for running our Dev, QA, and Prod services. Image repository is one of the basic requirements for using these services, we started with Docker hub initially but then shifted to ECR as it doesn't have any limitation in terms of pulling the images from the repos.
